Ali Wong is an American stand-up comedian, writer, actress, and producer[1][2][3][4]. She was born on April 19, 1982, in San Francisco, California, USA[1][2][4][5]. She is the youngest of four children, and her mother is Vietnamese while her father is Chinese-American[5]. Her father was an anesthesiologist who worked for Kaiser Permanente for 30 years[1]. Ali Wong is best known for her Netflix stand-up specials Baby Cobra (2016), Hard Knock Wife (2018), and Don Wong (2022)[1][3]. She also starred in the Netflix movie Always Be My Maybe (2019), on which she also served as a writer and producer[1][3][4]. 


Ali Wong began her career in stand-up comedy in 2005 and has since become one of the most popular comedians in the industry[1][3]. Her breakout Netflix special "Baby Cobra" premiered Mother's Day weekend 2016 to wide critical acclaim[3].
